The Conservative "Strike"

I started this merely as a comment on another blog on this site...however, my comment was rejected owing to it size. Instead I was urged to start my own blog.

That was the Conservative Strike blog.

However...now that I've done this, I think it could be fun. I mean I'm going to walk right into the lions' den and antagonize them. So this is what started out as merely a comment on another's blog.

The Conservative Strike blog is advancing the idea that conservatives should enter the voting booth and write in the name of the central character in Ayn Rand's novel "Atlas Shrugged"...whose name is John Galt.

Excellent book...I recommend heartily...along with "The Law" by Frederic Bastiat c. 1848...to be found at www.bastiat.org

I suppose I'm wondering what modern convservatism thinks it has in common with Objectivism...Ayn Rand...or John Galt, at this point.

I'm having a difficult time finding any link at all between, say...a Mitt Romney and a Fransisco d'Aconia...a Hank Reardon...an Ellis Wyatt.

I can look with the most powerful microscope...and still I'll never see the coalescence of the ideas of a Bill Bennet and a John Galt.

They are...as we say, mutually exclusive...Objectivism and Conservatism. In fact, the classical definition of liberal was ascribed to the school of economics that Milton Friedman espoused...one of little to no government involvement in market economics. The classical definition of a convservative was one who wished to involve the government in market ecomonics in order to control...to conserve it based on a rigid planning mechanism.

Even the euphemisms of the electorate are polluted, let alone the philosophies they misunderstand.

If one wishes to grind their axe using John Galt as the grist wheel...then I'd say that makes a little more sense than participating at all...but not much. John Galt...were he here would reject it...and would advise you to withdraw, period...without explanation: to simply remove yourself from that which plunders you at every turn. He would tell you that if the producers of the world refuse to produce...then those that plunder would soon find nothing left to consume.

He might tell you that you can only be victimized if you sanction it yourself...and if you refuse to sanction your own victimization by legitimizing the process by which you are victimized then it will fail on its own. He might say that if you continue to participate in something diseased and continue to be diseased by its presence then you are solving nothing and merely making it possible for it to continue to exist...to continue in plunder of your product.

Tell me conservatives...you have owned the reigns of power in Congress since 1994...the White House since 2000...what have you done for freedom? Show me your accomplishments...name them. Show me how the product of my mind and my labor is more mine by right...now than it has ever been. Show me how I'm at liberty to withdraw my money...my profit from plunder. Show me your balanced budget...the hell with that...your budget cuts...the smaller government I was promised. Show me those things.

Alas! You cannot show me those things...for they do not exist. Your politicians are no different than anyone else's. Your brand of illusion may look different...yet, it tastes the same.

Do you really want to do something?

Stop participating in your own destruction...ergo mine. I do not wish to be destroyed...I wish to use the product of my intellect to my own ends and be left in peace to live and die with my own circumstance asking nothing but the opportunity to be free in my pursuits and to participate in only what I judge worthy of my mind...my product...my interest.

I'm not alone. If convservatives really want to do something...then join the silent majority that seek no political creed nor profit but their own simple freedom. And who refuse to be the instruments of their own demise within the placebic masquerade of electorate politics.

Repudiate the political parties in favor of your own freedom...your own intellect...your own will.

That's who John Galt is.

Economically speaking...by the way...he would've been called a liberal.
